I Don’t Care How She Does It

There’s a movie opening this week, starring Sarah Jessica Parker.  It’s called I Don’t Know How She Does It.  Well I, for one, know exactly how she does it, because I did it for years.  I, and millions of other women just like me.  We are legion.

When my child was small, I worked 60 hour weeks.  I traveled for business.  I was the head of a charitable non-profit that continually raised funds, including holding an annual golf tournament, regularly soliciting for smaller donations—and here’s the biggie—raised millions of dollars by having endless meetings with potential donors and finally culminating in a black-tie benefit dinner.

Oh and I was room mom, participated in all of my child’s projects at school, went to Back To School night every year and in her final year of elementary school, I ran the weekly bake sale (another fund-raiser).

And I accomplished all this with a full-time working husband and a housekeeper/nanny (same person).

So my point is, when is someone going to make a movie about my life?

And my other point is, I don’t care how she does it.  Because I already have.
